CARROLLTON -- The body of a man has been recovered after he disappeared while trying to cross the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in Carrollton on the Fourth of July.
Vanoris Horton's body was found near Bush and Luna Wednesday at about 8 a.m. The 27-year-old from Dallas reportedly told his girlfriend he was going to cross the river at about 4 a.m. Monday "to get a ride," Carrollton police said.
The man's family reported him missing at 3 p.m. that day and a searched was launched by fire crews.
