Man shot, killed at Arlington apartment complex

Police said the man "may have been involved in high-risk activity."

ARLINGTON, Texas — Updated at 10:18 a.m. with additional details from authorities. 

A 29-year-old man was shot and killed at a northeast Arlington apartment complex early Wednesday. 

Officers responded to the call shortly after 1 a.m. on New Year's Day in the 2300 block of Steambed Court, near Brown Boulevard and State Highway 360.

The man was shot multiple times in the back, police said. The victim was transported to the hospital where he later died. 

The man was found inside his apartment, police said. Authorities have not released the man's name. 

Investigators are looking for surveillance footage and witnesses. 

Police said they believe the man "may have been involved in high-risk activity."
