Lawry's The Prime Rib closing in Dallas after 40 years

The pending closure of the restaurant, along the Dallas North Tollway between Belt Line Road and Spring Valley Road, stems from the sale of the building.

DALLAS — Lawry’s The Prime Rib will close in March after 40 years in Dallas.

The pending closure of the restaurant, along the Dallas North Tollway between Belt Line Road and Spring Valley Road, stems from the sale of the building, according to Lawry’s.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Lawry’s in Dallas,” said Ryan O’Melveny Wilson, CEO of Lawry’s Restaurants Inc. “We want to sincerely thank the Dallas community and our dedicated staff for its outpouring of support throughout the last four decades.”

“As we enter the fourth generation of our family-owned business, our unwavering commitment to growth and the enduring relevance of our 85-year-old brand remains. While one chapter closes, new doors are opening as we direct efforts on domestic and international expansion, bringing our timeless concept to new cities around the world,” Wilson continued.

The last day of service will be announced later, and Lawry’s says it will assist workers to help them transition to other opportunities.

Lawry’s The Prime Rib also has locations in Beverly Hills and Las Vegas, according to its website. The first international Lawry's opened in 1996 with partners operating seven restaurants in five Asian countries.
