Taylor Sheridan's North Texas-filmed 'Landman' show announces premiere date

"Landman" started filming in Fort Worth in February, including a scene at the TCU track and field facility.

FORT WORTH, Texas — "Yellowstone" creator Taylor Sheridan knows how get television shows on air, often in rapid succession. The Texas native has built a catalog of shows set in the "Yellowstone" universe, not to mention a host of other projects for the Paramount network and streaming app.

Now his next North Texas-infused project is on deck -- and we have a premiere date and photos.

Paramount this week announced that "Landman," -- starring Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm and Demi Moore -- will debut on Paramount+ on Nov. 17.

The drama series is billed by Paramount as a "modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs" in West Texas. But the show will feature some North Texas storylines, as well, and some scenes were also shot here.

"Landman" started filming in Fort Worth in February, including a scene at the TCU track and field facility. The TCU scene was featured among the show photos released by Paramount this week, with Hamm's and Moore's characters supporting their TCU track athlete daughter.

Legacy Casting had put out the call for TCU students and alumni interested in appearing as extras in the scene.

The filming this past spring and winter led to some star sightings across North Texas.

Thornton made a point to stop by Joe T. Garcia's, while Hamm decided to get a taste of the local barbecue scene, stopping by Fort Worth's Goldee's Barbecue. Hamm and his wife, Anna Osceola, also stopped by Dolly Python Vintage in East Dallas this past weekend, the shop posted on Instagram.

"Landman" is executive produced by Sheridan, Christian Wallace, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman and Stephen Kay.
