Kroger is opening 2 more Marketplace stores in North Texas

The grocery giant will break ground sometime in 2025 on locations in Little Elm and the Sendera Ranch community in Fort Worth.
The companies this week announced a list of 26 stores across Dallas-Fort Worth that would be sold to New Hampshire-based C&S Wholesale Grocers as part of the merger.

DALLAS — Kroger on Monday announced plans to start construction on two new Kroger Marketplace stores in North Texas.

The grocery giant will break ground sometime in 2025 on locations in Little Elm and the Sendera Ranch community in Fort Worth, according to a press release. The company did not say the exact addresses of each store. More details will be announced when groundbreaking dates are shared, according to the release.

Kroger's Marketplace stores are typically larger and offer an expanded selection of merchandise, including outdoor living products, electronics and home goods. The Marketplace stores are typically 100,000-130,000 square feet.

Kroger recently opened a Marketplace store in Melissa in October. The company also has plans to open a new Marketplace store in Fort Worth at East Bonds Ranch Road and State Highway 287 later in 2025.

Kroger is one of the biggest grocery chains in Dallas-Fort Worth, with more than 104 stores across North Texas. Kroger's attempted merger with Albertson's — another top grocer in North Texas, mostly with their Tom Thumb brand — was blocked by the Federal Trade Commission.
