KELLER, Texas — Keller High School was evacuated Thursday afternoon after an experiment in a science lab set off the school’s fire alarm system, Keller ISD says.

There were no injuries and no physical damage to the campus aside from some water damage, according to the district.

Students will be able to re-enter the high school through the main entrance to collect any belongings left behind until 6 p.m., according to a letter from Keller High School Principal Lisa Simmons. After 6 p.m., the building will be secured, and students will be able to pick up their items before school tomorrow, according to the letter.

“We fully anticipate that KHS will reopen Friday on a normal schedule and appreciate your patience as we worked through this situation today,” Simmons wrote in the letter.

This is a developing story.  We’ll update this story as additional information becomes available.
