FARMERS BRANCH, Texas — Joya Playground at Oran Good Park in Farmers Branch has reopened with new policies in place after previously having to close for required maintenance.

The glow-in-the-dark playground had to close at the end of last month due to issues like large crowds and repairs. It reopened Monday, and to reduce the chances of future closures, multiple new policies have been implemented.

Joya will be open from noon to 10 p.m. daily, with the security gate around the park closed at 10 p.m. Playground monitors will also be present at peak times to supervise and maintain capacity, but the city says residents won't be turned away.

Staff will also be on-site to monitor capacity during Spring Break and on weekends until further notice.

Parking along Tom Field Road next to the park will be prohibited, aside from those with limited mobility. Playground visitors will instead use one of two large parking lots nearby.

Unauthorized vendors are prohibited from selling items at or near the playground.
