IRVING There is new information about a crash that killed a Colleyville woman, her boyfriend, and an attorney in Irving last month including the final known images of the three victims.
News 8 has also learned at least one of them survived the high-speed crash in an exotic car, only to drown in a Las Colinas canal.
Surveillance video taken at the entrance of a Dallas men's club outside a men's club in Dallas captured the final images of Southlake attorney Ronald Eddins. He and two University of Texas students he had just met got into Eddins' Porsche Panamera at 2:43 a.m. on January 4.
Twelve hours later, a 911 call revealed the trio's tragic end a utility crew discovered the car fully submerged in a Las Colinas canal.
The 41-year-old attorney had lost control of the car. It hit a guard rail and went airborne 95 feet before crashing into the water.
Newly-released reports reveal Eddins didn't die on impact; he drowned.
His passengers Kaat Debeuckelaer, 21, of Colleyville and her 23-year-old boyfriend Kenneth Lark died in the crash after suffering blunt force injuries.
Those same reports reveal step-by-step the couple's final night, from attending a Dallas Stars game to Debeuckelaer's call to her sister at midnight saying the couple was at Copeland's Bar in the Southlake Hilton. She said they had met a really cool attorney who was buying their drinks.
That attorney was Eddins.
Police said Eddins was speeding before the crash. His Porsche Panamera was capable of going as fast as 188 mph.
