DALLAS — Traffic was reduced to one lane on southbound I-35 near the Texas-Oklahoma border Monday because of a hole in a bridge deck, officials say.

Specifically,  the right lane of southbound I-35 was closed near Thackerville, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT).

Drivers can expect delays in the area. It’s expected to be reopened by 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the TXDOT.

The Love County Sheriff’s Office in Oklahoma says the issue has already resulted in “significant” traffic backups.

“[The Oklahoma Department of Transportation] and TXDOT have been in communication on how to fix the road issue and we will work on repairs in the coming days,” a post on the Love County Sheriff’s Office social media page reads. “Also there is no back way if you exit at Exit 1. The only other way around is back to Marietta and west to Highway 89, or East to 377.”
