MELISSA, Texas — H-E-B is continuing to develop grocery stores across the metroplex, with its latest being in Melissa, Texas, where they just broke ground on Thursday.
The 131,000-square-foot store will feature all of the products and services expected at an H-E-B. It will be located at the northeast corner of U.S. 75 and Highway 121 and offer a pharmacy with a drive-thru, a True Texas BBQ restaurant with a drive-thru, as well as curbside and home delivery.
This H-E-B is expected to open sometime in 2025.
"We're excited to strengthen our presence in the DFW metroplex with our move into Melissa," H-E-B Executive Vice President North West Food/Drug Juan-Carlos Rück said in a statement. “Our H-E-B locations across North Texas continue to stir up great excitement with customers, and we look forward to providing an outstanding shopping experience with the best H-E-B has to offer.”
To commemorate the groundbreaking, H-E-B announced they will donate $40,000 to Melissa ISD schools, giving $5,000 each to Melissa Ridge Education Center, Harry McKillop Elementary, Sumeer Elementary, Melissa Sixth Grade Center, Melissa Middle School, North Creek Elementary, Willow Wood Elementary and Melissa High School.
Along with the Melissa store, H-E-Bs are expected to open in Prosper and Rockwall next year. Other stores have already opened in Frisco, McKinney, Allen and Plano. Two stores in Alliance and Mansfield, currently under construction, are expected to open this year.
Two Joe V's Smart Shop by H-E-B stores are also planned to open in Dallas, which H-E-B says is part of its family of brands offering an innovative price format delivering high-quality, fresh products at low prices.
