GREENVILLE, Texas — A juvenile suspect is facing manslaughter and tampering charges for a shooting that killed a teen in Greenville, according to police.
In a news release posted on social media, police said they responded to a shooting call at 9:44 p.m. on Wednesday.
Officers were dispatched to Webb Avenue and Trinity Street, then they were directed to Warren Park. When they arrived at the park, they found a dead 14-year-old boy with a gunshot wound.
The boy was not identified in the news release.
From an initial investigation, police believe the shooting was an accident and that it happened while someone else was playing with a gun.
Police say another juvenile was taken into custody. He's being charged with manslaughter and tampering with evidence.
