Grass fires break out across North Texas in addition to Parker County blaze

The fire department tweeted Monday that it, along with crews from Argyle and other cities, are working the fire near FM 1171 and U.S. Highway 377.

Several grass fires in addition to a 1,000-acre blaze in Parker County were breaking out across North Texas on Monday.

As of 5 p.m., fires had been reported in Flower Mound, Ellis County, Wise County and Collin County.

The fire in Flower Mound had been contained enough to re-open Farm Road 1171 and U.S. 377 in all directions.

The fire in Collin County was reported in the 4500 block of Farm Road 3364 in Princeton. The Ellis County fire was in the 1100 block of Nash-Howard Road in Nash and had been contained by 6 p.m. The Wise County fire was reported northwest of Decatur.

Updates on the fires in Collin County and Wise County were not yet available Monday evening.
