Man dies in North Texas house fire, officials say

Firefighters said they began searching the building for a person reportedly trapped inside and found a man inside a bedroom of the home.

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — A man died from injuries sustained when he was reportedly trapped inside a burning home Monday evening in Grand Prairie.

The Grand Prairie Fire department responded to a single-story home on fire in the 3600 block of Park Ridge Drive, near Corn Valley Road and South Grand Prairie High School, shortly after 6 p.m. Monday, a press release from the department said.

Firefighters said they began searching the building for a person reportedly trapped inside and found a man inside a bedroom of the home. First responders brought him to a hospital in critical condition where he later died.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner has not yet released his identity and the Grand Prairie Fire Department is still investigating what caused the fire.
