Driver ejected from SUV, killed in North Texas crash, officials say

Garland police said road conditions may have contributed to the crash.

GARLAND, Texas — A man was killed in a crash in Garland early Saturday on Interstate 635 near La Prada Drive, police confirmed to WFAA.

Garland police officials told WFAA the driver of a SUV was ejected after losing control of his vehicle in the eastbound lanes and hitting concrete barriers on both sides of the highway. The roadway conditions may have contributed to the accident, police said.

The man, later identified in medical records as 23-year-old Victor Javier Alvarez Munoz, did not survive the crash, police said.

There were no other injuries reported.
