WATCH: Garland man thrown from motorcycle in Deep Ellum hit-and-run

Thankfully, Nino Cox had a camera attached to his bike and captured the shocking accident. Police are now looking for the suspect.

DALLAS, Texas — Investigators with the Dallas Police Department are looking for the driver who crashed into the back of a Garland biker this past weekend and drove off from the scene near Deep Ellum.

The accident was caught on the biker's mounted camera, which shows him being thrown from the bike after a black BMW hits him from behind.

The vehicle then sped away without stopping to check if the biker, Nino Cox, was okay.

"As soon as he hit me, I looked up and was seeing the sky," Cox told WFAA.

Cox said he was heading down to Deep Ellum to see some friends early Sunday morning and was getting off US-75 near Good Latimer and Elm when the accident happened.

He said the BMW didn't see him or the red light ahead of them.

"I tapped on my brakes to make sure he saw me," Cox said. "He didn't, and I got thrown from my bike."

Cox said that the BMW had a black grill and likely has damage to the front of it. If you know the driver or see the vehicle, call the police.

The 30-year-old went to the hospital as a precaution, but aside from a sore neck, back, and wrist, he's going to be okay.

His bike is likely totaled -- one that he's worked on for years, adding custom adjustments and paint jobs -- but he's much happier to be alive.

"I feel like this person didn't have a heart and drove away because they were scared or were driving under the influence," Cox explained. "What if it were their friend or family member -- they wouldn't have wanted them to be left out like that."
