Body recovered from Frisco park pond, incident being investigated as suicide, police say

Police have not released the victim's identity. Officers are asking anyone with information to call the department's non-emergency line.

FRISCO, Texas — The Frisco Police Department is investigating after a body was pulled from a pond. 

According to Frisco PD, officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at Frisco Commons Park in the 8000 block of McKinney Road on Nov. 20. Officers said before arriving at the scene, dispatched relayed there was an unresponsive person in the pond.

When they arrived, officers confirmed there was a person in the water, and the Frisco Fire Department was called in to assist. Police said a short time later, Frisco fire personnel recovered the person from the pond and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

On Dec. 5, Frisco Police said although the medical examiner's final report hasn't been received by the department, the cause of death has been determined as a drowning and the incident is now being investigated as a suicide. 

At this time, the person’s identity has not been released, police said.
