TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Trinity Metro is offering a safe travel option for those who are ringing in the new year.
The transit agency said it was offering free rides starting at noon on Dec. 31 for those who were looking for a safe way to travel to their destinations in Tarrant County.
Free rides are available on all bus services, the Trinity Metro TEXRail traveling between DFW International Airport and downtown Fort Worth, the Trinity Railway Express between CentrePort Station and Fort Worth T&P Station and ACCESS paratransit services.
“Trinity Metro is committed to providing excellent customer service and being a reliable resource to our community. We want to ensure that all those traveling today can get to where they need to go safely. Offering free rides allows our residents to celebrate the new year without worry.”, said Wayne Gensler, Trinity Metro Chief Operations Officer.
The free rides will last through the day and through the end of the service day.

In Dallas County, the Dallas Area Rapid Transit is also offering free rides through its program with Coors Light. The program will run from 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 until the end of service.
Free rides will be available for all buses, trains, Paratransit Services and the TRE between EBJ Union Station and CentrePort/DFW Airport Station. No passes or coupons will be required.
DART Rail will add extra departure times for the evening to go with their usual weekend schedules. You can check those final times online.
