Man fatally shot in apparent robbery in Fort Worth parking lot, police say

Police said officers responded to a shooting call and found a victim dead on the ground, with gunshot wounds on his torso.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A man was fatally shot in an apparent robbery in southwest Fort Worth early Wednesday morning, police said.

The shooting happened around 4:45 a.m. in the 600 block of Copperfield Drive, off Granbury Road and South Hulen Street, according to a police news release.

Police said officers responded to a shooting call and found a victim dead on the ground, with gunshot wounds on his torso.

Police said investigators determined that the victim was shot after someone tried to rob him while he was walking in a parking lot. The suspect left the scene after the shooting, police said.

No arrests have been made. More information about the shooting was not released. The victim's name has not been released.
