Deadly shooting ends with car crashing into Fort Worth home, police say

Police said an altercation had happened on nearby Tin Star Drive and that shots were fired. The victim then tried to get away in a vehicle.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A deadly shooting ended with a car crashing into a Fort Worth home late Thursday, police said.

The incident started around 11:20 p.m., when police were dispatched to a shooting call in the 7200 block of Silver City Drive, near Eagle Mountain Lake in northwest Fort Worth.

Police said an altercation had happened on nearby Tin Star Drive and that shots were fired. The victim then tried to get away in a vehicle, according to a police news release.

The vehicle ultimately crashed into a home. The shooting victim died at the scene, police said, and another victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. It was not immediately clear if anyone inside the home was injured.

Police said officers detained a suspect in the shooting, but more information about their potential charges were not released.
