Cook Children's Urgent Care location closed temporarily due to electrical outage

Fort Worth Fire Department said they were called to the Alliance location and saw smoke coming from the roof.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth-based Cook Children's has temporarily closed one of its urgent care locations due to an electrical outage on Saturday.

On Saturday night, Cook Children's posted on X saying that the Urgent Care Alliance location on North Riverside Drive would remain closed on Monday.

The health care system then posted Sunday morning that the Alliance center will be closed "until further notice."

On Saturday, Fort Worth fire officials told WFAA that they didn't see a fire when they arrived to the scene.

Firefighters saw smoke coming from an HVAC unit on the roof. They ventilated the building and cleared the scene.

The fire department said everyone inside the urgent care had evacuated themselves before crews arrived.

No injuries were reported.

Cook Children's told WFAA that there was an electrical outage with their HVAC unit, but there wasn't a fire. They're hoping to get new parts soon to repair that unit.

Cook Children's has six other urgent care centers in North Texas. The one closest to the Alliance location is on West Pulaski Street in Fort Worth.

Update: Cook Children’s Urgent Care Alliance will be closed until further notice due to a small fire. Please visit our website for information about our six additional urgent care locations.
