The former Four Seasons Resort at Las Colinas is now officially a Ritz-Carlton, with $55 million in renovations months away from completion.
The Las Colinas Resort at 4150 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Irving transferred to Marriott International's Ritz-Carlton brand Jan. 23, a rebrand announced in 2022. The resort, completed in the '80s, was the longtime site of the Byron Nelson golf tournament.
The 400-acre Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas resort, which includes includes a 427-room hotel and two PGA-certified golf courses, had been operating as the Four Seasons Resort at Las Colinas until being acquired by Trinity Investments and Partners Group in 2022.
“We are delighted to have spearheaded the revival of such an iconic property, not only for Texas but also for travelers worldwide,” said Greg Dickhens, managing partner for Trinity Investments. “The proximity and accessibility of a resort of this caliber make it a unique opportunity for luxury leisure and business travelers alike."
This marks the second Ritz-Carlton property in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The company also recently announced plans to renovate the other local property along McKinney Avenue in Dallas, a 218-room hotel built in 2007.
“The [Las Colinas] property presents a distinctive opportunity to savor Texas' natural landscape while indulging in luxurious accommodations, all while maintaining access to the city," said Jamie Kerr, Ritz-Carlton's vice president and global brand leader.
The new owners are working on upgrades to the entire property expected to continue through May, led by design firms Jeffrey Beers International and Leo A Daly. Renovations include a new lobby bar, updates to all guest rooms and 80,000 square feet of updated meeting space and ballroom facilities.
A new restaurant concept from chef John Tesar, Knife Italian, will open in March 2024, and a new coffee shop, Campo Coffee & Provisions, is also set to open in the spring. Also set for a spring opening are a 14,000-square-foot salon and spa and a new pool.
The Ritz-Carlton Club on the second floor is expected to open in February with five daily culinary presentations and invite-only events.
