Evacuations lifted in White Settlement after construction crews damaged a gas line

According to the White Settlement Fire Department, the damaged gas line is located in the 700 block of Kimbrough Street.

WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas — The White Settlement Fire Department has lifted evacuations after a gas line was damaged in the 700 block of Kimbrough Street Wednesday. 

According to a Facebook post from the department, a contractor damaged a natural gas line during road work. Initially, Fire crews evacuated people from nearby areas as a precaution, but they were able to mitigate the hazard and lift the evacuations. 

In addition to these evacuations, the fire department also shut down the following intersections:

  • Kender Lane at Meadow Park Drive
  • Kimbrough Street at Gibbs Drive
  • Kender Lane at Gibbs Drive
  • Kimbrough Street at Whitney Drive

According to the department, some of the roads are still blocked as Atmos crews work to repair the damaged line.
