MCKINNEY, Texas — Voters in McKinney weighed in on a $485.5 million bond package that could lead to a series of new construction projects.
The bond package is split between five propositions. Voters Saturday showed support for four of the five propositions.
The two largest propositions were Proposition E, which is $243.5 million for street and roadway improvements, and Proposition A, which is $106 million for parks and recreation.
With all vote centers in Collin County reporting, unofficial results showed voters supported Proposition E with 66% of the vote and Proposition A with 58% of the vote.
Another, Proposition C, calls for $30 million for improving and expanding a public works facility. Meanwhile, Proposition B calls for $36 million toward a new municipal courts facility.
With all vote centers in Collin County reporting, unofficial results showed voters supported Proposition C with 50.05% of the vote, but failed to support Proposition B with 54% voting against that proposition.
Finally, Proposition D calls for $70 million for improving and expanding public safety facilities for the city's police and fire departments.
With all vote centers in Collin County reporting, unofficial results showed voters supported Proposition D with 66% of the vote.
The $106 million proposition for parks goes toward a new recreation facility, new pickleball courts and various other park improvements, according to a fact sheet from the city.
The $243.5 million for street improvements is intended to be combined with other funding sources to help pay for new roadway construction, reconstruction of aging streets and more, according to city officials.
