Driver crashes into an apartment complex in Dallas

The driver was not hurt and no one was inside the home at the time.

DALLAS — A driver crashed a vehicle into the side of an apartment complex in Dallas Friday afternoon.

The driver backed into the building just before 2 p.m. in the 5000 block of Matilda Street, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue.

Authorities say the driver, who has not been identified, accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake. He was not hurt in the incident, and no one was inside the home at the time.

"Thankfully, there was no structural compromise to the building, but there were several bricks from the façade that collapsed onto the ground," Dallas Fire-Rescue said in a statement.

There were no other injuries, and no further information is available at this time.
