DALLAS COUNTY, Texas — Residents in Dallas County affected by recent storms can seek help at two new Disaster Recovery Centers opening Saturday, June 15.
The recovery centers are provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Texas Division of Emergency Management, Dallas County and local cities, according to a Friday news release.
“Our Disaster Recovery Centers provide face to face help for those affected by the May storm and power outages,” said Dallas County Judge Clay Lewis Jenkins.
One-on-one help will be provided at the recovery centers for those impacted by the severe storms last month, which resulted in thousands of people losing power across the Dallas County area.
The centers are holding a soft opening on Friday afternoon and will officially open at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 15. Operations run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Recovery centers are located at Williams Elementary School (1821 Oldgate Lane, Garland, Texas 75042) and at Network of Community Ministries (1500 International Parkway, Suite 300, Richardson, Texas 75081).
