Denton High School assistant principal and Brig. Gen. Howard Palmer Jr. "will not return to the district" after a "thorough investigation surrounding an incident reported on Saturday, April 27 regarding...inappropriate and offensive language," according to statements from Denton ISD.
On April 27, Palmer was placed on administrative leave by the district after a community member contacted Denton ISD with a video of Palmer "using inappropriate and offensive language," according to a statement from Denton ISD.
"Any time allegations of this nature are brought to our attention, we work to act swiftly and effectively to take the appropriate action...This type of behavior will not be tolerated at any level," the district said Monday (emphasis theirs).
The district has not specified to WFAA what the "inappropriate and offensive" language was, but a Facebook video from a parent and other news reports have the assistant principal using the N-word multiple times as he discusses an incident where he allegedly told a student to "turn that "n----- music off."
Palmer is no longer listed as a staff member on the Denton High School's faculty page.
Palmer was named the commander of the Army Component Command of the Texas State Guard in 2015.
