DENTON, Texas — Tailgaters for UNT football games just got some new, green options, as the school has announced partnerships with two companies to release a school-themed bourbon and beer.

"Mean Green Reserve Bourbon" and "North Texas Blonde Ale" are being released by Hochatown Distilling Company and Revolver Brewing respectively in partnership with the Denton university. Both are Mean Green-themed, sporting UNT's colors and a drawing of Scrappy, the university's eagle mascot.

"Joining together with Revolver Brewing to release North Texas Blonde was an easy decision, and we are excited for this blonde ale to be available for Mean Green fans and craft beer lovers across DFW," UNT Vice President and Director of Athletics Jared Mosley said in a statement. "Utilizing the fan-favorite Strutting Eagle logo along with Revolvers outstanding reputation for craft beer is sure to make this beer a favorite."

Hochatown Distilling Company Founder and Managing Partner Tommy "Blue" McDaniel said it's a privilege to partner with UNT.

"We look forward to contributing to the positive impact UNT has made in the region and are excited to bring top-tier products and experiences to their alumni, fans and customers," McDaniel said in a statement.

Both the beer and bourbon will be available at retailers throughout DFW starting in August, and the beer will be for sale at DATCU Stadium and the Super Pit. But, for all the Fry Street regulars, North Texas Blonde Ale is available at Denton bars right now. And samples of the bourbon will be available at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Mean Green Kickoff event in the HUB Club at DATCU Stadium.
