Construction crew hits utility pole causing hundreds to lose power in Argyle

According to Oncor's website, power is expected to be restored by 10:30 p.m.
Thousands of Oncor customers in Denton, Collin, Tarrant and Dallas counties are without power Sunday.

ARGYLE, Texas — A construction crew hit a utility pole in Denton County Monday evening causing a power outage.

The Town Administrator in Argyle told WFAA the incident at one point caused about 1,040 customers to be left in the dark. At last check, about 697 customers were still without power.

Oncor crews are on site working to restore the power lines. According to its website, power is expected to be restored by 10:30 p.m.

To say Oncor crews have been working overtime is an understatement following last week's severe storms.

Thousands of customers in Denton, Collin, Tarrant and Dallas counties were still without power Sunday. However, those numbers have since come down substantially.

To report an outage, Oncor says to text OUT to 66267, click "report an outage" located above the outage map, or use the MyOncor app. Oncor says if anyone sees a downed power line, to stay away and call 911 immediately.
