TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — A 26-year-old member of the Eagle Mountain Fire Department was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning in Tarrant County, authorities said.

According to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office (TCSO), deputies responded to the 8700 block of Boat Club Road at about 1:30 a.m. to the report of a major accident.

TCSO said deputies found a pickup truck had crashed into a utility pole.

According to TCSO, firefighters and paramedics worked to remove the driver, later identified as Dalton Ingram, who was the only person in the truck, however, he was pronounced dead shortly after.

TCSO said its Traffic Investigations Unit is working to determine the cause of the crash.

According to a Facebook post from the Eagle Mountain Fire Department, Ingram was a member of the department.

"Dalton Ingram died in an off-duty accident in the early morning hours," the post read. "We ask that you please keep his family, friends and members of the department in your thoughts and prayers during this terrible time. We're going to miss your dad jokes and fun-loving spirit that always filled the room. Rest easy, we'll take it from here. RIP #2187."
