DALLAS — A man's body has been found in White Rock Creek as Dallas officials searched for a person who went missing Saturday night, officials say.
According to Dallas-Fire Rescue (DFR), units were sent to the creek at about 10:30 p.m.
Allegedly, the missing man was trying to cross the creek on foot when he was swept into the water.
Officials say a woman who was with the man had called 911. She wasn't injured and stayed at the scene to give information to first responders.
"Multiple DFR units, to include boats, rescues, heavy apparatus and our drone team, worked with DPD resources in the search; which went well into the morning hours with no success," officials say.
In an update Sunday afternoon, DFR officials say a man's body was recovered at 11:30 a.m. that morning.
While officials say the body matches the missing victim's description, the Dallas County Medical Examiner will have to confirm the identity.
The body was said to be found about 100 yards away from where the missing man was swept away.
No other information is available at this time.
