DALLAS — There will be a new holiday trash collection schedule in Dallas for the weeks of Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

There will be no garbage or recycling collections Monday, Dec. 25, or Monday, Jan. 1, in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays. All garbage and recycling collections the week of Dec. 25 and the week of Jan. 1 will be delayed by one day (i.e. Monday routes will be serviced on Tuesday, Tuesday routes on Wednesday and so forth). McCommas Bluff Landfill and the city’s transfer stations will also be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Customers may place carts out for collection on their normal collection day, or they may wait until the following day. Carts must be at the appropriate collection point no later than 7 a.m. on the collection day.

Brush and bulky item collections will still occur during the normally scheduled week.

Customers can download the Dallas Sanitation app for iOS or Android to receive reminders and service advisories for their specific locations and visit Dallas Sanitation’s website for more information about the programs and services sanitation provides.
