DALLAS — A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in the killing of a rideshare driver in a Dallas shooting earlier this month, police said.

Police are not naming the teen, since he is a juvenile, but officials confirmed Thursday that an arrest has been made.

Faneal Tesfit, 25, was killed in the Feb. 20 shooting in the 2400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, off Interstate 45 south of downtown Dallas, police said. Officers found Tesfit after he crashed into a vacant house. The officers discovered that Tesfit had been shot before crashing into the house. He died at the scene, police said.

More information about the shooting and what led to the teen suspect's arrest has not been released.

Tesfit's family confirmed to WFAA that he was driving a rideshare at the time. He had recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and had started driving to make some extra money on the side. Tesfit had only been driving rideshare for a few days before the shooting and crash happened, his family said.

His family has created a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
