DALLAS — A man was taken to a hospital Tuesday morning for burn injuries from a house fire in Dallas, according to Dallas Fire Rescue.

Officials say their units were assigned to a fire at 7:18 a.m. in the 9500 block of Castlefield Drive. That's in southeastern Dallas near Bruton Road off of Interstate 12.

When firefighters arrived, they said the one-story home had smoke coming from the front window and the front door.

The crew was making their way into the home when they saw a neighbor with a hose in their hand who had already extinguished the flames. According to DFR, that was the same neighbor who called 911 about the fire.

Officials said a man in his 50's was found in the home with "unspecified burn injuries." He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Remnants of the fire were found in a bedroom of the house, according to DFR.

After talking to firefighters and the neighbor, investigators believe the fire was accidentally caused by the man "smoking in the presence of home oxygen."

No other information is available at this time.
