Multiple people injured in Dallas crash after Haltom City car chase involving minors, officials say

Dallas County officials said the four people in the suspect vehicle were minors. Everyone in the crash is expected to recover.

DALLAS — Four minors were among five people sent to a hospital early Sunday morning after a car chase from Haltom City ended with a crash in downtown Dallas, according to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office.

Dallas Fire Rescue told WFAA they were dispatched to Continental Avenue and Stemmons Freeway after getting calls about an accident at about 1:45 a.m.

Haltom City Police said the incident started as a car chase in their area.

At about 1:30 a.m., officials said an officer tried to stop a Ford Mustang that was driving recklessly around Spring Lake Parkway and Denton Highway. The vehicle then led police on a chase before colliding with a GMC Acadia in Dallas, police say.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, there were four minors in the suspect vehicle. All four and the driver of the GMC are expected to recover.

Haltom City Police told WFAA that the suspect driver and two of the passengers were 15 years old and the third passenger was 13.

Once released from treatment, police said the suspect driver is expected to be charged for Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle and Driving Under the Influence. Depending on results from the driver's blood sample and the full extent of injuries, the suspect could face more charges.
