Construction workers injured in Dallas after car falls into underground hole, officials say

A Dallas Fire official said three workers were in a hole at the construction site when a car fell in. They were taken to hospitals for their injuries.

DALLAS — Three construction workers in Dallas were sent to hospitals Tuesday morning after a car crashed through their worksite, pinning one of the workers in an underground area, officials say.

Their conditions were not yet known.

The incident was reported in the 2400 block of North Houston Street near the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and American Airlines Center. The car appeared to be upside down in a construction hole that had fencing and barriers around it.

At 8:44 a.m., according to a Dallas Fire-Rescue official, a car crashed through a barrier at the construction site and fell into a hole at the worksite.

Three workers were inside the hole when the car fell in, according to DFR. The official said one of the construction workers was pinned by the car, but first responders were able to get everyone out.

All three construction workers were taken to hospitals for their injuries. Their conditions are unclear at this time.

The driver is said to be OK.

This is a developing story. More information will be released when available.
