4 indicted, including teacher, in North Texas child sex trafficking investigation, records say

Indictments were handed down by a grand jury on Dec. 8 for the following suspects and charges, according to Dallas County court records.

DALLAS — Four people, including a former North Texas teacher, have been indicted in a child sex trafficking investigation, according to court records.

Records show that the Dallas County District Attorney's Office accepted the case one day after a WFAA investigation aired revealing that Gershon Caston, the former teacher, had taught in multiple North Texas school districts despite multiple investigations into his conduct. The story included a jail interview with Caston.

Indictments were handed down by a grand jury on Dec. 8 for the following suspects and charges, according to Dallas County court records:

  • Amber Gords, 30: compelling prostitution under 18 and trafficking of a child
  • Adarius Staples, 33: aggravated sexual assault of a child, trafficking of a child and compelling prostitution under 18
  • Gershon Caston, 38: aggravated sexual assault of a child, trafficking of child and compelling prostitution under 18
  • Lamorris Hudspeth, 47: aggravated sexual assault of a child

According to the indictments, Hudspeth had previously been convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child in 1998 and attempted aggravated sexual assault of a child in 2004.

Staples had been convicted of aggravated robbery in 2015.

Police last year said the incidents tied to this case happened in June and July of 2023, with an 11-year-old girl as the primary victim. The indictment documents indicate there may be other underage victims involved with some of the assault and trafficking charges.

Dallas Police helped solve the case as part of a joint investigation with HSI Dallas, North Texas Trafficking Task Force partners and the Dallas Police Special Investigation Division.

According to the arrest affidavits, the young victim encountered Hudspeth at a Dallas hotel in June. Hudspeth told the victim that if she wanted to stay inside his room, she had to have sex with him, the documents said.

Hudspeth and Staples, who stayed in the room next to Hudspeth at the hotel, sexually assaulted and trafficked the child at the hotel.

The victim told police that she left the hotel in early July and ran into Caston at a local gas station.

After being taken to Caston's home, the victim said Caston told her he was a teacher before sexually assaulting her multiple times, giving her drugs and alcohol and eventually forcing her to engage in commercial sex, according to the arrest affidavits.

The documents also state that Gords took photos of the victim to create commercial sex advertisements.

The victim had been missing for weeks and was initially reported as a runaway, according to the arrest affidavits. The documents say she called a family member in distress -- which sparked the investigation, leading to the arrests of the four suspects.
