Dallas police seek tips in series of Deep Ellum robberies; suspects offered drugs to victims

Dallas police said investigators have connected three robberies with similar circumstances.

DALLAS — Police are seeking information on a series of July robberies in Deep Ellum.

Dallas police said investigators have connected three robberies with similar circumstances. Three victims were approached by one or two suspects and offered some marijuana. After smoking what they believed was marijuana, all of them passed out and woke up to find some of their property had been stolen. 

The first incident happened Thursday, July 11 shortly after 1:30 a.m. at 2720 Elm St. Police describe the suspects as two black men, one between 5 to 5'5'' tall, weighs about 190 pounds, and goes by a name, possibly Bonton. The second suspect was last seen wearing a white durag, about 6' tall and weighs about 170 pounds. 

Three days later, a suspect approached another man at about 2:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of Main Street. Police said the suspect is described as a black man between the ages of 20-30 years old and wore blue pajama pants and a gray shirt. 

The third victim told police the same event happened about a half an hour later. He was offered marijuana and passed out.
