Dallas police officer hits woman with squad car

According to DPD, the officer hit the woman with his squad car at the intersection of Elam Road and Cedarcliff Drive.

A woman died at a local hospital after a Dallas police officer hit her with his squad car, according to the Dallas Police Department.

According to DPD, an officer in a marked squad car was responding to a call without his car's lights or sirens on, traveling east on Elam Road.

DPD claims a woman, later  identified as Aresly Jaramillo, 20, was standing at the median near the intersection of Elam Road and Cedarcliff Drive. Police claim she "ran in front of two vehicles trying to turn left onto Cedarcliff Drive, and into the far-left lane where the officer was driving." 

DPD says the officer hit Jaramillo with his squad car. The officer then stopped and administered first aid to her, and she was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. police say.

DPD says this investigation is ongoing.
