DALLAS — Nearly half of residential moves in a calendar year happen between Memorial Day (May 27, 2024) and Labor Day weekends (Sept. 2, 2024), according to rental company U-Haul.
So, you've probably seen quite a few moving trucks in the past few months. Kaufman County (No. 1), Rockwall County (No. 2), and Ellis County (No. 8) all cracked the top 10 fastest-growing counties in America, per U.S. Census data reported by U.S. News & World Report in March.
Where are all of these people coming from?
U-Haul looked at one-way truck transactions for the first half of 2024 (Jan. 1 to July 1) and broke down the markets where the Dallas-Fort Worth moves originated from. Here is what their migration trends found:
