Off-duty Dallas Fire-Rescue driver-engineer dies, department confirms

DALLAS — The Dallas Fire-Rescue community is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Friday morning, DFR announced the off-duty passing of Driver-Engineer Jimmy Small on the department's Facebook page.

The department said Officer Small served at the Dallas City Hall for seven years and "will be missed by all." The details surrounding Small's death were not immediately released.

"Please keep his family, and the members of this department, in your thoughts and prayers as they search for closure. Rest in peace brother," DFR said.

In Feb 2024, DFR announced that Quinton White died while off-duty. White was a Firefighter/Paramedic and served the city of Dallas for more than six years.
