DALLAS — A student brought a gun to a Dallas ISD elementary school on Friday, the district said.
According to Dallas ISD, the student was found after a tip from another student, and the gun wasn't in class.
The student is being handled according to the Student Code of Conduct, the district added.
"Student/School safety starts at home. It’s a shared responsibility," the district said in a statement. "We need parents to ensure weapons of any kind are locked and safely put away and not accessible to minors."
No one was threatened with the gun, the district said.
Dallas ISD police are handling the investigation.
