DALLAS — Police said one person was killed and another was taken into custody following a deadly one-car crash in Northwest Dallas early Saturday morning.
Investigators said 20-year-old driver Emmanuel Gonzalez was speeding, lost control of his white Infiniti sedan, and hit a utility pole in the median of the 10900 block of Webb Chapel Road.
The pole toppled, killing an 18-year-old woman in the back seat of the vehicle. A 19-year-old man sitting next to her was hospitalized with injuries, but was expected to survive. A front seat passenger was not injured.
Gonzalez, who was unhurt, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
