DALLAS-- Official word could come Monday on which airline will get two highly contested gates at Love Field Airport. American Airlines must give up the slots because of its merger withUSAirways.
Virgin America, Southwest andDelta Airlines want the gates. Last week WFAA broke the news that Dallas City Manager ACGonzales decided to give the gates to Virgin.
Later he said he wanted to think more about his decision over the weekend.
If given the gates, Virgin America will sublease them fromAmerican Airlines through 2028.
Virgin says it will add flights to New York, Washington D.C., and eventually Chicago. They already fly to Los Angeles and San Francisco from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
