COPPELL, Texas — Luxury supercar manufacturer McLaren is unveiling two new supercars at its American corporate HQ on Friday.
The public will get to tour the Coppell-based facility to see the Artura Spider and Artura Trophy EVO for the first time. Those public tours have already been filled due to popular demand, according to McLaren.
The McLaren Artura Spider is the brand’s first-ever high-performance hybrid convertible, with an MSRP price starting at $280,000. The supercar has the capability to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.0 seconds and has a maximum speed of 205 miles per hour, McLaren officials said in a press release.
The new Artura Trophy EVO parallels the performance enhancements to the new Artura Spider and coupe, McLaren officials say, with changes that have resulted in a "more aggressive race car capable of faster lap times."
After considering both the Dallas and Atlanta metros as potential new homes for its American operations, U.K.-based McLaren announced plans to move to its Coppell property – located at 1405 S. Belt Line Road – in 2019 following a decision that it needed more space than its previous high-rise Manhattan office could provide.
Home to about 30 employees, the Coppell facilities – designed by the Dallas-based Merriman Anderson Architects firm – officially opened for business in November 2022.
