DALLAS -- A longtime Dallas firefighter died on Wednesday after a short battle with an undisclosed illness, the Dallas Hispanic Firefighters Association confirmed Thursday.
According to a post on the Facebook page of a foundation created in the memory of a Dallas firefighter who died in 2011, firefighter Marco Davila died "suddenly" in Dallas. Davila was about to complete his 20th year with Dallas Fire-Rescue.
The Lt. Todd Wesley Krodle Memorial Foundation and the Dallas Hispanic Firefighters Association are raising money to help with funeral expenses and Davila's family. If you would like to contribute, click here.
Davila is survived by his wife, Denise, and two children, Mariah and Marc.
