DALLAS — Two Dallas police officers were fired on Monday during a disciplinary hearing with Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia.
Former DPD Officer Shawn Couch was fired for reportedly violating the off-duty employment policy, as well as the expanded neighborhood patrol policy and engaging in adverse conduct by receiving pay for off-duty employment he didn't work. In addition, Couch reportedly made false statements during an administrative investigation.
Cpl. Joshua Cooper was fired for reportedly being found by a Murphy police officer sleeping behind the wheel of a running vehicle. He was subsequently cited for public intoxication by the Murphy Police Department.
