DALLAS COUNTY, Texas — The Dallas County Sheriff's Office arrested 33-year-old Javonti Hines in connection with a hit-and-run on Sept. 14 that left a man seriously injured.
The crash happened around 2:53 a.m. that day at westbound I-20 and Highway 67, the department said in a news release.
Deputies said the preliminary investigation revealed the victim was standing outside of his vehicle when it was sideswiped. The driver of a black Dodge Ram pickup, Hines, struck the victim and kept going.
The victim was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.
According to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, Hines has been charged with collision involving serious bodily injury, a 3rd-degree felony, and tampering/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair, another 3rd-degree felony.
