Dallas Police officer shoots at pack of aggressive dogs, killing 1, officials say

Police responded to reports of five aggressive dogs, which bit one person, Dallas police said.

DALLAS — A dog was shot and killed by police after a group of five aggressive dogs charged at officers, Dallas police said

Officers were called to reports of an animal attack around 9:37 a.m., Sept. 29 in the 2800 block of Sargent Road, near Sargent Park, according to a press release from Dallas Police. When officers arrived they found five aggressive dogs who had already bitten one person, the release states. 

Police deployed pepper balls but the dogs remained aggressive and charged at officers, the release states. One officer fired his gun at the dogs and one of the dogs died, police said. 

The person bit by the dogs did not receive medical treatment, police said. Animal control was called and captured one of the dogs. The three other dogs ran away, police said.
