DALLAS — One of the two runways at Dallas Love Field is back open after three months.
Runway 13L/31R at Love Field closed in August for safety improvements.
The runway partially reopened Monday with limited operations because of a concern raised during an FAA inspection. Specifically, Love Field previously said the project sought to correct safety deficiencies with new grading and the installation of a new drainage system along Taxiway A.
During the partial opening, aircraft with wingspans under 79 feet could use the runway while commercial and other aircraft with larger wingspans continued using 13R/31L temporarily. The runway was approved for full operations without restrictions Wednesday night.
“After receiving reports from the airport's airside operations and the FAA, the project's contractor successfully addressed the remaining safety concern, and the runway was approved for full aircraft operations without restrictions on Wednesday night,” a statement on Love Field’s website reads.
