Should Dallas change its city flag? Some people seem to think so.

Pegasus on top of bars representing the Trinity River, anyone?

DALLAS — Editor's note: The video published above is a WFAA report from 2016.

It's been a hot-button topic before, but there's renewed conversation on what the city of Dallas flag should look like.

For those who don't know, the city of Dallas flag looks like this:

WFAA spoke with a community advocate in 2016 who had a vision to have it replaced.

"It's kind of boring and municipal," Dallas May said. "That's the reason why you never see it."

And according to recent posts on Reddit, there are tons of people who agree with May. Similar to May's vision in 2016, a new flag's design is centered around using the city's ties to Pegasus – the old Magnolia Oil logo.

This flag design on Reddit uses a "simple iconic Pegasus on triune bars for the Trinity river," the same idea May proposed nearly 10 years ago. Another Reddit thread hours later posed two more options utilizing the Pegasus and a "Lone Star": One with a similar red, white and blue color scheme, and the other following a blue, white and silver colorway.

Dallas flies a different Pride Month flag during June every year, but otherwise the current flag, which was designed by E. L. Gilchrist and adopted on Feb. 13, 1967, dons the flag poles in the city.

Although there have not been official talks to change the flag, if there ever were at any point, there is at least a fool-proof direction to go.

Heck, it's not a new concept: Dallas Trinity FC just did the same thing with their soccer club logo in their own way.
